Ok so the pics the other day were fun and we made it in, camped and made it out but Lord what a test of our mental will and physical limits!! 3 hrs and 4.5 miles in with an elevation drop of 2500 ft straight down. Camped over night. Woke up at 4:30 am to pack up and hike 4 hrs back out! All with VERY heavy back packs and looking out for wild animals! I have to give it to my kids! THEY ARE BEAST!! I truly have a new respect for them! Manuela R-d and Sofia made the challenge their own. At 14 Manuela set the pace. She encouraged us and gave us pep talks all the way. Sofia at 9 kept pace never complained and impressed everyone along the route as she traversed the dangerous cliffs and steep inclines often leading me along!!!! They did all that only to jump in the car for a 6 hr drive to the next leg of the trip and all they wanted was some sweets! Hahah! They got em! Well, next stop, Albuquerque, NM!!! Adriana Rodriguez-Dantzler s extreme family vacation is in full effect! Hahah
