Ok so this is my beef with the Ice bucket challenge. First let me say Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrigs Disease, is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death It is a horrible thing and we should definitely spread awareness about it and other horrible diseases and raise money for cures. That said most videos of the Ice bucket challenge do not give the viewers any education on the disease or tell people where to donate. Its being done more for fun and silliness. Which is cool what ever. On another note an estimated 6 million gallons of water have been wasted on the challenge worldwide. With out fresh water we will die as well. Just a thought. If your gona do it educate your audience and keep the water use to a minimum. Just sayin.
