Ok so time for a rant... My middle daughter Trinity asked me for money this morning for a fund raiser, she said that if she paid 5 bucks then she could listen to music on her phone at school. It sounded kinda shady so I called the school and sure enough it is a fund raiser. My problem is that it has nothing at all to so with grades or conduct or attendance, its called Pay to Play and u could be failing all ur classes and have horrible conduct but if your parents pay then u still get this reward. So conceivably there could be a kid with perfect attendance, all As and perfect conduct and if their parents dont have the money to pay they are left out. What is this teaching our children? Doesnt this cause even more of a chasm between the have and have nots, which is already an issue at public school? I want my children to earn their rewards! To learn that to get privileges they have to do the right thing, not pay money!! Wtf is going on at LPISD??
