Ok, some info for the people seeking to join this page. If I have booted you for something, dont try to rejoin unless you have spoken to me and I tell you its okay. Otherwise, Im just going to block you. I dont boot people unless I have a good reason. If, however, you speak to me and I say Ok, Ill reconsider and let you back in, that reason still in all likelihood STANDS. So dont waste your energy and my time trying to rejoin UNLESS youve been given the all-clear. If you annoy me FURTHER, itll be even harder to get me to let you back in. Second issue: I do NOT just automatically let people in. I actually look at your request and, if possible, your timeline. If the join request doesnt have an active link to your timeline -- your name is not clickable -- Im going to ignore the request. If you have been in Facebook less than a month, I cant look at your request, and you belong to 30+ groups, Im not just going to ignore it, im going to BLOCK it. This is to avoid a slew of spam and bot accounts. If you joined Facebook for years, and I can click on your name and look at your timeline, it really doesnt worry me how many groups you belong to. What Im looking for is a reasonable indication that youre a real human being and not a spam account from Tuvalu or something. I do NOT make these decisions based upon your name, whether its in a foreign language or not, or whether its clearly a pseudonym or not. I dont much care. Call yourself Lord Hottentot of Aldebaran, I dont care. What Im concerned with is that you dont appear to be hostile or a spammer. If I DO let you in, and you start posting ads, Ill boot and ban you. If you engage in dump and run -- post something and dont bother to discuss it -- I will probably speak to you about it. I prefer that people discuss issues rather than announce things, though if youre announcing a Pink Pistols gathering, announce away, thats fine. If you look at the timeline in the group and youre the only person who has posted in the past few days, which makes it look like youre dominating the stream, consider just starting up a conversation first. Please try to encourage others to engage with you rather than just slapping up an electronic handbill. These are not onerous or draconian rules. They are very similar to the rules weve had on the Yahoo Groups for over a decade, modified slightly for Facebooks nature. If you try to join and dont hear a response after a few days, send me a private message. I might have thought you were a spambot because of one of the above reasons, so if you TALK to me directly it will likely assuage that concern. But no matter WHY you contact me directly, if you have a problem, a question, a concern, or a compliment, please be nice about it. I do not react positively to being yelled at by anyone.
