Ok, the low down about Mom. Shes finally agreed to drink the colonoscopy prep and when we got there at 3 today, she had about 3/4 of it down. She has to drink it all by midnight tonight. Ive spoken to her about where she is going after, for rehab and that I can no longer take care of her as I did before. I told her the truth, although it was hard for us both to hear the truth, it is a fact that if I had waited a few days longer to take her to the ER she wouldve died of thirst or bled to death. The night before last they had to give her 2 blood transfusions in addition to pumping her with fluids do to her kidneys being dry. She is now stable and more herself today as I know her to be. She cried a little while, but later calmed down when she realized what was said was the truth. The nurse didnt give me much time to have Mom respond or me to respond to her before she yanked me out of there to talk to me and give Mom her pain medication. Shes receiving morphine every hour, mainly for her compressed fracture of T8. Once the procedures take place tomorrow, a course of action follows, then she will be discharged and transferred to a skilled nursing facility (Lebanon Country Manor or Ottebein-Lebanon) for rehab from there she will be taken to KMC for the kyphroplasty for the T8. Doctors are refusing to due the kyphroplasty while she is in the hospital because thats not why she was admitted. My question is, isnt traveling such a long distance harder on the patient? Especially with a compressed fracture? Apparently not. Anyhoo, I want her to have the kyphroplasty done at Atrium Medical Center, closer for both of us and better for her but her primary physician doesnt like or trust AMC. They gave her excellent care in the past. So once shes in SNF, I believe the order will be up to the attending physician, which I will speak to him/her about it. I have an appointment with an attorney Monday for a free consultation as to the actions I can make and should make. Most of those who are reading this already knew my plans to put her in a SNF next month. Its just happening sooner. I still feel the twinge of a stone, only its closer to my bladder. I dont know exactly how Jesus will deal with this stone only that He is and He knows I want it gone before the Lithrotripsy, but if He chooses me to go that route, I believe I will witness to someone among the staff or families waiting. I can only hope I get the courage to speak up before the anesthesia and not after. Most people wont listen to patients after they wake up. Im still calm, collected, and somewhat together. Its all Jesus, Hes keeping me standing firm and gluing the pieces together when they start to fall. Have a good night ya...see my family in the morning!
