Ok, this is a big deal, so bare with me, this is a little long... This is part of a realization for me which I feel will affect a lot of my work in this coming year. You see, Ive always loved making videos. Absolutely love it. But theres something Ive been neglecting in my videos that I never felt comfortable enough to share. And thats heart. Connecting with people. ME. The me I share with my friends and family. Not the me who people only know as a comedian or funny guy. But the me who has a lot more to say when it comes to the human heart, something I am crazy passionate for. I dont share a lot of my life outside of facebook, and as weird as that may seem to some people, its been holding me back in a certain way. I want to understand the people who are interested in my work. So, Ive decided to breach those personal walls and really try to reach people on a humanistic, personal level that I havent really been doing in the past. You might already do this and think Im weird for saying it, but its a big deal to me! Which leads me to this video The Perception. I had it unlisted on YouTube specifically for family, and family only, to view. I had it unlisted because it is incomplete, raw, and deeply personal. After an insightful talk with my fiance, I realized this is the very thing my work, me as a person to the general public, is missing. Ive always strived for a structure in my videos. But Ive realized that all that structure has been keeping me back from expressing the true artistic integrity of who I am and what my work is. But more importantly, how it can touch other people. So, here is my first video breaking everything Ive built up mentally over the years. All the beliefs and structure. An attempt to break the cycle of 100% comedy, and really trying to reach the human heart -- the human nature -- of who I am and who my audience is. I am still me! Merely a more public me. A more open me. Let 2015 be the year I learn something about myself by learning something about you. I do hope you enjoy this first video of what will be many to come in the near future. :) Feel free to like and share. If you want to keep up with my progress in this video, as well as many others, go subscribe to my youtube channel as well! January is packed with fun videos already :D
