Ok, time for a little rant on the old home town. I was on vacation in October, visiting my old home town (Seal Beach) and went to the beach. I purchase a parking pass at the machine and somehow when closing the door to the car the wind pushed said parking pass further up the dash board so it was under the black strip at the bottom. Thirty minutes later, I get ticketed for no parking pass. I speak to the officer in the lot and he says to photocopy the pass and the ticket and send it to the city and it should be canceled. Well, it looks like my old home town is so hard up for parking fines, they insist upon me paying because it wasnt properly displayed. Apparently, proving I had paid the fee was not good enough. Now I must pay $43 to the city because the wind blew the pass out of proper position. I am all for following the law, but how am I to control the wind when shutting the door of my car? If the town were really concerned with proper displaying of the pass, they would be aware enough of the conditions (wind) that exist around the beach and maybe put an adhesive strip along the back so it wont blow out of proper position! Hell, with the fines collected they can certainly afford it. Talk about a scam!!! Nothing like making guests (new and returning) feel welcome! Thank you Seal Beach, may I have another!!!
