Ok, todays first cigar was a bust -- Man o War Ruination Saloman - TopicsExpress

Ok, todays first cigar was a bust -- Man o War Ruination Saloman (7.125x58). It fired up easily enough with a decent, consistent burn. It had a lot of pepper which didnt fade away like Im used to. Im not a fan of pepperiness. After about an inch into this stick I knew it wasnt getting any better. There was a bitterness to it and a flavor package that I just didnt like. I put it aside and let it extinguish unfinished. Ill know better next time. To follow up this misfire, I brought in old faithful -- Tabak Especial Negra Robusto. Despite it being in the low 40s and windy, I smoked this one all the way through. Yes, there was a slightly diminished flavor due to the cold but it still took the bitterness from the Man o War out of my mouth. What a wonderful smoke! On a related note...has anyone noticed ash taking on an orangish hue in cold weather? I noticed this on both the MoW and the TE. Whatcha think?
