Ok, update on the puppy. She has been at the vet since this morning. Shes a sick little gal, but shes in wonderful hands with Dr Stacy Kesteloot Lewison. She is resting and on IV fluids to help her feel better. Her Parvo test was negative, but we werent ruling it out, incase she was just not shedding the virus yet. I went home, and Stacy called in a Tamiflu script. I picked that up, and headed back down this afternoon with a fresh stool sample from momma dog and one of the other puppies. Also loaded them up and brought them with for Dr. Stacy to check out. Giardia test was negative as well as second Parvo test. THANK GOD that it wasnt Parvo.....but Coccidia was found in the stool samples of momma and pups. This is what is making this baby so sick. The entire family is on meds now and at least it is treatable, and my prayers were answered that it was not my biggest fear. Puppy has to stay at the clinic until she feels better and starts eating. Im confident in her care at Lakeside Companion Animal Clinic. Thank you Dr. Stacy !
