Ok you guys win. Here are my tasting notes for the new Highland Park Dark Origins. Color: Golden like the HP 12 yo. NOSE: Very creamy with definite evidence of sherry cask, sweet with dried cherries and scents of oak PALATE: Big and full bodied, Prunes, Walnuts, Cocoa, Sweet, lots Smoke and cigars, Malty FINISH: Exotic fruits are very evident. The same with the peat and smoke, but just a faint presence to remind you it’s a Highland Park Conclusion: Really very nice and well balanced. Very big for something I suspect is about 10 to 15 yo. Well worth the price of $80. I wonder how this whisky would taste if the age statement is about 20yo , I would say superb,. A must buy. I am listening now to Billy Joel’s music and I am in Highland Park state of mind. There, are you guys happy? :D
