Okay- just one more from my home town! ;-) .... St Lukes Church - Also known as the burnt-out Church. Liverpool, England. St Luke’s holds the reputation of being one of Liverpools most haunted locations. One of the more recent spooky true tales is of an event that happened back in 1991. A 6 year old girl called Abbey, was abducted by the spirit of a decrepit old woman. The girl disappeared whilst on a shopping trip with her family. As the family frantically search for her, they heard her screams from within the walls of the burnt-out-church, which had been hit with an incendiary bomb in World War Two during the Blitz. As they approached the church they saw an old man, dressed in period clothes, holding Abbey’s hand. Abbey ran to her father and jumped into his arms. The old man apologized to the family for causing any distress then turned and walked away. Abbey told her parents that an old woman in a black shawl had grabbed her hand and dragged her into the church, where there was a mass being held. She said that there were lots of people in the church dressed in old-fashioned clothes. The women wore long dresses and big hats, and the men were all dressed in black. Abbey had screamed for her daddy, but the old woman had put her hand over her mouth to keep her quiet. Sometime later, a tall man came into the church and pulled Abbey from the old womans clutches. He was the man who had returned Abbey to her parents. They asked Abbey if the old man had said anything to her. She told them that he had said just one thing, that he had been a long time dead....?!
