Okay. A white woman in the hot tub here in glorious Mississippi decided she wanted to ask me and Nicole Johnson a question. So. She proceeded to call out to us, Hey Blacks! Ay, blacks! I know you hear me, blacks! Ay, black dont crack hahahahahahah my friend is black and blah blah blah blacks dont crack ahahahahahahaha. To the Korean couple sitting across from us, she went on to tell them how yall Koh-reans dont crack either. You know, they grow up to look like children. So. Im in a very nice hotel in Mississippi where Ive already run into a couple of other race problems. I decide not to drown her. No, I make vicious stank faces and just completely ignore her. Nicole turns back to me and lets out a huge ANYWAY and we keep talking. Despite her effort to be the loudest person on Earth, I tune the lady out. Then she says to her friend, in what she thinks is a whisper, See, Im from the projects. One thang about them blacks is they think theyre the only ones who can say it. They get all mad when anyone else does it. And I told Nicole we had to go. It was over. Because I had exhausted my ability not to drown this woman. It was exhausted. I knew, as a black person, that if we proceed to tear her to pieces, WE would be the ones getting arrested. Wed be the ones in jail. We would be charged and arrested and all that good stuff. And she would sit there laughing and smiling and calling the guy from another country AY LEBANON. So I used all the power I have inside my freaking body and left. Im TIRED it took so much out of me to just leave. I ALWAYS have to say something when Im wronged. It took a lot. Man...tell me why Im tired of this crap?
