Okay, Apparently my post about the 15 thoroughbreds was deleted. Maybe because it didnt have a location. BUT, its because I dont know their exact location! It said once we could afford them we could make arrangements to go get them, and get them to one central location and sort through them. Since they are straight off the track the buyer didnt take them to his pens! He just told me he rounded them up for a polo player who didnt show up, and if I wanted them ALL - he would meet me in Ft Scott Kanses to pick them up. So, maybe we can try this again? Okay, I confirmed it today the buyer in the north has 15 REGISTERED THOROUGHBREDS. Here is my issue, rescues keep saying that he wants TOO MUCH! They go to auction and want to pay auction price, unfortunately these horses went either directly to him or maybe to auction that he bought them from... He doesnt want local auction price, he wants what he feels is a fair rate $700 EACH! So, he isnt interested in letting me take just one or letting the public come and pick through them. He wants me to buy the whole lot of them. I am very nice to him, because I never want a day to come that I cant show up park and walk through his pens without anyone even taking a second thought. Ive had a great relationship with him this far because I am trying my best to just buy what horses I can rehome immediately because I dont have the land or the funds to take them in long term unless they can race. If they can race I can keep them at the track. Ive been criticized for buying kill pen thoroughbreds and racing them again, but just look up CHICKS A FLYIN or Gamblin Blues! I also have IZZO and JBs Shyster :) these are horses that have a lot of races left in them that were slaughter bound when We found them! I hate I cant take them all in, but I can take in what I can. Ive purchased an addition 10 reg TB horses in the last 60 days and rehomed them because they were too thin or needed to much TLC to put Into race training. We got them healthy and homed them. What I am asking, is there anyone who is will to pay $700 and when I get the whole price together you can come look through them? Is there anyone who wants to donate to try to save them? Im not sure what the best answer is, or if there is one... But, Im willing to go get them haul them all to a central safe location and we can sort through them then...
