Okay. Before you decide that Im the worlds shittiest guitar player, please keep in mind that this is only day 3 of not looking at my fingers....which also means its day 3 of torture-ville. This shit is beyond painful. It makes you feel blind until you finally realize that you have to learn to see with your ears. Funny side note....As Im sitting at my desk typing, Patty Griffin just walked by my house with her little dog. She actually walks by all the time as she lives at the end of my street. Ill have to remember this next time I get the hankering to play on my front porch. I would die if she heard me learning guitar. And Im pretty sure she already thinks Im a freak seeing how I wrote her a letter a couple of years ago, requesting that she be a subject for one of my paintings. I imagined she would say yes, and then I would paint her, and probably give her the painting when it was finished. And then she and Robert Plant would lounge around in her living room, marveling over how awesome of a painter I am. And then the next time either one of them put out a new album, they would hire me to design the cover. I mean, Duh. She never wrote me back though. Anyway, heres what will eventually be Landslide.
