Okay Cathie, John, Linda, Ellen and Tina, thank you for being the only ones brave enough to take a chance on my #tbt Christmas Trivia Challenge.... the answer is..... Ross Bagdasarian a/k/a David Seville came up with a rather hot little novelty for Christmas 1958 that took the world by surprise and was the last Christmas song ever to top the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Who could forget the lovable Alvin, Simon, and Theodore on a little number known simply as The Chipmunk Song.... All the other artists, including Elvis, played second fiddle to the Chipmunks.... and the Platters had to wait several weeks for their version of Smoke Gets In Your Eyes to make it to #1. Elvis One Night never did..... PS - I have this album, and wonder if Paul or John Bardunias remembers playing it on that old Zenith stereo we had downstairs. It was cool cause you could play at 16, 33 1/3, 45 and 78 RPM, which made it even more fun to listen to the voices of Alvin & Co. as they changed, or to make other artists sound like chipmunks too! https://youtube/watch?v=6hAUWyp0qzs
