Okay FB world, I need some help. I seem to have a raccoon who has moved into my barn. So where I think raccoons are cute, and Im a live and let live kind of girl, this particular raccoon is eating me out of house and home for cat food, is fouling my barn kittys water bowls on a regular basis when he uses it to wash his food, or occasionally dumping it and tossing it over altogether, and is keeping the cats from having food 24/7 like I want them to, especially in this cold. I want him to relocate, but Im guessing that since he has found a food source, a warm, dry place, and water that stays liquid, he wont voluntarily go elsewhere. So here are the conditions: 1) Im not going to kill him, so poison, harmful traps, etc., are out. 2) whatever traps I use have to not hurt the aforementioned barn kitties 3) I dont particularly want to be eaten by the irate coon that I catch--or will coons just vacate a live trap and run away, not attack? Also, I assume that if something is eating my cat food, melting the cat food in it, and tossing the water bowl over, that would be a raccoon, right? Help!
