Okay I admit it, when I was growing up in a row home in E.Camden - TopicsExpress

Okay I admit it, when I was growing up in a row home in E.Camden around Christmas time I wanted to be Catholic because Eugene my next door neighbor got way more presents than I did for Hanukah. Eugene also had an amazing chew, chew train setup down in his basement. However, when I would see Eugene walking down the street with ashes on his farhead after he confessed his sins to a priest I was glad I was Jewish. Sad but Eugene NEVER told me about Jesus and how I could KNOW HIM in a personal way. Looking back now I know why. In fact for 25 years since I came to know Jesus in a personal way as my Lord & Savior I have yet to meet one Catholic person to tell me how I could be reconciled with the Jewish Messiah. Celebrating Hanukah will not reveal direct evidence of our Messiah but it does bring forth the bravery & resolution shown by the people of Israel in the revolt against their heathen oppressors & their Syrian King, Antiochus Epiphanes between 167 & 164 B.C. God has always preserved His people throughout history. Hanukah is also called the Feast of Lights. And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth (Isaiah 49:6) the Light of the World, Jesus the Messiah has shined in the darkness, Isaiah 9:2. The Messiah desires that ALL Jews & Gentiles would partake of the salvation He provided when He became the perfect sacrifice for the sins of the world (John 1:29) this great gift we accept by faith and find true and lasting forgiveness for our sins. Sin brings darkness into ones life and will ultimately result in eternal separation from God. The Bible says, The soul that sinneth, it shall die. (Ezekiel 18:20) Man is separated from God because of sin, and the death spoken of in these verses is a spiritual death, which means a separation from God for eternity. But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. (Ezekiel 18:21) HEAVENLY FATHER I thank you for the miracle of Hanukah and preserving the Jewish people. My hope & prayer is my Jewish brethren & all my Catholic friends & so, so many I encounter from day to day will come to the saving knowledge of The Jewish Messiah in Jesus name, AMEN! HAPPY HANUKAH & HAPPY THANKSLIVING! Shalom you ALL, THE HAPPY HEB
