Okay I am a facebook tard on the computer here. Just an update on my doctors visit on Friday. Loved the surgeon and he is only 4 miles from home. This is a good thing. A lot was explained to me. For sure there will be a laminectomy done on my L-spine with possible screws and small rods. He is not sure about the screw and rods yet because he will not know until he gets in there. If he has to go that route, I have already said he can do it to avoid more surgery. I told him if I could turn back just 10 years on my back pain, I would be thrilled. I know there are no guarantees about this and possibly I am still going to need some pain management, but that is okay. I know I am not going to have a 20 year old back either when he is done. The stenosis he said is off the hook causing much nerve pain too. Ugh....I swore I would never get back on an operating table again, but I am desperate to be out of this kind of pain. He said I am going to have a bit of long recovery after this and will not even be able to start PT until at least a month after surgery. UGH too! At the hospital, the staff raves about him and I can see why. Not only they say he is a good surgeon, he is a good kind caring person. My son Scott said that the techs speak really high of him as they are in there during operations. Oh and btw, my son what assisting with take x-rays of me on Friday....it was really cool to see him all professional! I am just having to wait insurance approval for surgery and i will be off to the gallows!
