Okay, I am more calmed and collective. I was so full of rage - TopicsExpress

Okay, I am more calmed and collective. I was so full of rage and anger and I wont apologize for my post either. To me, if you can enjoy my friendship, my travel rants, news clips, pictures, etc, then you must accept and be ready for all of me, good and bad. I was told by a good friend to not be so quick to be upset over issues like these and look towards the heavens, the blue sky, do yoga, drink herbal tea, take a walk, catch the sunset, or as deep as God has a plan for everyone and hes in control of this world and that its not the white man who control things, blah blah blah. Sorry, I cant do all of that at once. Though, thoughtful and kind of advice like those are still an excuse for racism and white supremacy to run loose. As black people, as well as people of color, we are always told to be more civil even when those who abusing us or even killing our kids. As much as I do believe in a God, I gotta be a man and question sometimes who a God would allow such things to take place. Of course, I am still asked to dont worry, hes in control and he has this great plan for the world. I know my question on this subject is going to piss some people off and me questioning the notion of deity or God will provoke many reactions, which I am prepared to face. I think that the God that is presented to me by some people, is Racist! Yes I said racist! Systematically, blacks around the world are of the poorest of the poor, often killed by the some sort of authorities and those of us living in the Western Hemisphere , come from an ancestral linage of Africans taken from one continent to the Americas. Not just Virginia, folks! Cuba, Mexico, Brazil, Central America, South America, the Caribbean, the Americas, as slaves!! We were given Salvation as a form to avoid punishment. We were so called freed, only have laws to prevent us from even existing. Our ancestors were beaten, killed, and the laws that were for protection of society did not include us. But, God has a plan.................and often times it doesnt include black people in it. This does not shatter my faith, but I question these things not to say lets abandon the notion, but to those who ask me to look elsewhere instead starring at the racial reality that we have in front of us, is a way to ignore white supremacy and the senseless acts against our black people. The laws that we have to protect us are designed forever to protect the police and the public reactions are always going to be divided between those who benefit from this system of justice and those who are always caught in the line of fire of justice. But, go take a walk and catch the sunset and ignore racism. The reactions and the quick to silence me are beyond puzzling and disturbing. As if some people dont really know who I am or where I stand on the issues especially when it comes to race and racism. Am I to understand that we only get along as long as I refrain from speaking about these issues? Look, I am not Morgan Freeman! Im not post racial and I am not running for President! Im just a simple guy who enjoys traveling and meeting new people and making friends. Though those are my passions, my pain steams from racism and hatred people have for others. I like people and I strive for a better community and I know its impossible, but I have seen the impossible on many levels. But, to deny my honesty on who I am and what I see? We cant be friends if I cant be honest with my life and my reality. Equality is not about ignoring our racial differences and pretending those are issues of the past. Ive said if before and I will say it again. Fighting against racism and inequality is not a 6 month program, or a 12 steps to racial freedom course, nor is it a 2 year exercise, its for life!! And, you have to be willing to fight for people rights even for those who hates your guts! To many, Treyvon Martin deserved to get killed, even if he just went to the store to get some skittles, not a gun or a toy gun, skittles. Michael Brown, well he was a thug and still he deserved to get killed and his parents should have raised a better son, not my words, words from many people. In short, with this rush to silence me needs to stop and rushing me to look beyond the heavens, or the sky, do yoga and wait for Gods plan is another excuse to maintain white supremacy and keep black people and people of color blind to racism and racial hatred. I will dare to say that we all dont pray for the same things. I believe that some pray for our destruction and continued oppression and as much as I hate to say it, some of their prayers have been answered. Have I lost faith in God? Nope, I am just man enough to ask the tough questions. As always, safe travels
