Okay, I dont say too much bad about a trial - am always happy for one to occur - but the Calgary Stampede has done a great rendition of The Crappiest Show On Earth when it came to the sheep trial. Just because sheep never have seen a dog will NOT make them light. Grips that were not called ( my Ky s included) and non existing grips that were called. Are we not supposed to show the public stockmanship - impossible in these circumstances. I even offered to pull Gin out to train the sheep tonight- this was rejected. I warned them that it wont be much better - I bet there may be about 20 runs higher that 12 points tomorrow. I hope I get a packet of sheep that has been gripped - all those that followed a dog will be gripped tomorrow. I have nothing to lose tomorrow - if Gin gets a lot that is hell bent to walk upon her, I may try for a small period time and then give the fetch them up command. What a fantastic way to throw $330 dollars away per dog -I do feel as if I( as well as other handlers) have been screwed. At least when your screwed, you should be kissed after - or at least flowers sent-or a shot of penicillin. What a gong show!
