Okay, I got 12. I have enjoyed reading everyones posts and wanted to play along. 1) I believe that the secrets to life are choosing to have an attitude of gratitude and having a will do, can do mentality. 2) My dad bought me The Hobbit the Christmas I turned eight, I think, and bet me that I couldnt read it from cover to cover before he did. (I won. I had two weeks off of school.) This set up my love of fantasy fiction, in particular a love of Tolkien style fantasy. 3) Because of this love of fantasy and sci fi, there have been several Christmases where my dad and I have bought each other the same gift (movie): The Fellowship of the Rings Extended Version, The Two Towers Extended Version, The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. (I am thinking there was a fifth time, but I cant remember what movie that was.) 4) One time, when I asked what time I was born, my dad told me During Star Trek. 5) Joe asked me out three times before I went on a date with him. 6) We only dated five weeks when he proposed to me. (I said yes.) 7) Joe is a better husband than I deserve. 8) The first time I met our dog, Charlie, he belonged to my parents neighbor and his name was Harley and I was a little scared of him. I knew he was a pit bull and I had never met one to this point, and I let the media spin get to me. When the neighbor passed away suddenly and it looked like Harley was going to go to the pound, I took him with the intent of getting him up to date on shots and neutered and fell in love with him and the breed. Been a huge pit bull fan ever since. 9) I will regularly re-read favorite books. 10) I have a desire to finish an Ironman...someday. I dont know if I will ever get there, but its a dream. 11) I was told when I was about 16 that I should consider trying to go into opera by someone who had worked in opera. I was too scared to give that any serious consideration. I miss singing now. My voice is rusty from non-use. 12) My parents are my heroes. You have never met people who are more willing to help you out in whatever circumstance.
