Okay, I have not stopped receiving messages asking for my opinion on such an such a lifter or someone or others performance since the Worlds. Ill post up the response Ive given to everybody. Chad Wesley Smith arrived on our shores as somewhat of an under dog. Not a lot was said about him, with names like Koklyaev, Malanichev, Sarychev, Bolton, Benny, Brandon and our own Odell, all SHW and all coming. When the dust had settled, Chad had totalled 1050kg and had won the Gold. When Odell got injured, he was left unchallenged. Whilst others chose not to go up against him, he remained focused and did what he set out to do. He didnt travel for 15 hours plus to have a holiday. Now Ive never met Chad, never had any conversation with him other than when we spoke on the phone between his bench and deadlifts. Hasnt been much fanfare after the event either, FB isnt filled with pictures of him. Whilst I thought Dan, Eric and Chris also did really well, lifted in the class where they were meant too, were close to their best totals, won their class as expected etc, from afar, Chad was the lifter of the meet for me. And for the record, I know nothing about Juggernaut Training Systems so this is not a plug of any sort, but I just think the man hasnt got the plaudits for his outstanding performance that he deserves.
