Okay, I just found out Rush Limbaugh said this today. “This is just pure Marxism coming out of the mouth of the pope. That explains the madness in my message boxes. Allow me to clarify. What the Pope is condemning is the idea that capitalism cures all ills. Hes condemning Ayn Rands philosophy, not Ronald Reagans. He used trickle-down to describe the notion that we can rely only on the free market to care for the poor. Ronald Reagan believed in a safety net. Ayn Rand did not. Rush Limbaugh has fallen into the same error that Ayn Rand fell into. As Dennis Prager rightly noted, Ayn Rands error was in believing the opposite of socialism is a good thing.
