Okay I knew the Intro To Womens studies was meant for me when I picked this as my first class at Albright. However, the overachiever in me wont finish the darn paper because I am so critical of my work and can argue this topic till I am blue in the face. Of course I found the most fitting article for me about Sheryl Sandbergs advice to women on why more women are not at the top....and my discussion question refers to a subtitle that now after having read the article about 25 times has come to completely annoy me. HOW SHE DOES IT. This referring to her child care responsibilities and household chores at home. After discussing the article in my paper, I refer to the subtitle and question: Is this necessary? Would an article about a male COO or CEO have the same subtitle and discuss how his children make their own breakfast etc? So not only do women face a double standard daily in corporate America...there is gender bias with the media. I want to scream out tomorrow night as I present to the class WHO CARES HOW SHE DOES IT, WHAT MATTERS IS SHE IS SUCCESSFUL AND DOES IT!!!!!! I am loaded up on coffee...and fired up about a topic that hits close to home.....Carry on....
