Okay, I know everyone is looking for an update on Victoria. We saw Pete Dalldorf and David Thompson at Greensboro Orthopedics yesterday. Seems the triage group at the hospital missed the broken shoulder, but it has now been addressed. She kept telling me my shoulder really hurts—so broken left shoulder, elbow, wrist. The hard cast has been removed and a mobile device added to the sling which is much more comfortable and aids in doing the simple task. She has already received exercises which will help heal and strengthen the injured areas. The concussion was a bad one and at a minimum it takes about 2-3 weeks for those issues to resolve. She is in good spirits and ready to have this behind her. In her words, timing sucks—I need to be in the studio every day working on Art & Sole stuff, but she is not new to illness and injury and understands the body has to heal. We had to stop all the pop-in visits because they just wear her out. She loves her peeps, but she is a southern lady and feels compelled to entertain you when you visit. She needs quiet time and lots of healing naps. She is focused on getting better, so my guess is that will come about much sooner than even the docs expect. There is a little basket on the front porch to receive goodies. She loves fresh salad makings, especially tomatoes, little casseroles, quiches, tomato pies, good coffees, sweet tea, and baked goods. This morning she is enjoying blueberry/zucchini bread from Janet Marie Gaddy and Tim Moran. I apologize if I have not responded to your emails, FB posts telephone messages, but trust me, there is a complete Victoria nation out there, and I just simply cant get back to everyone. We feel your amazing love and care, and know your prayers work. As soon as she can see clearly again and all the facial stuff heals, Im sure shell be back on FB, headed to the studio, etc. I tried to take a pic of her we could post, but she threatened my life. The doc described it well yesterday—she looks like she went through a windshield. We are so lucky to have Rhys living with us—he loves Lady Victoria and has been such a help to us both. In the meantime, she sends all of you Victoria love and hugs which are the absolute best in the universe.
