Okay, Im determined to finish this before Christmas, so Number 2 on my albums of the year list is Todd Terjes debut Its Album Time For anyone that remembers last years Daft Punk album with its nod to disco and using real instruments, old school synthesisers, etc. This kind of pisses all over it, and this is the album that they should have made. There is so much to listen to on this album. It starts with three tracks that sound like youre arriving at a French Disco on the riviera in the late 70s in a sports car driven by Steve McQueen - its that cool. This then goes into a more funk heavy groove with Strandbar and Delorean Dynamite and just like that youre dancing round the house in a pastel suit with the sleeves rolled up thinking to yourself, this is Giorgio Moroder but better. Things slow down for the stripped down cover of Johnny and Mary complete with a heartbreaking vocal by Brian Ferry before things kick back into gear again and youre bopping round your house thinking this is amazing. Then Inspector Norse comes on and you cant stop grinning. I cant help listen to this album without a smile on my face. Buy it, its electronic music at its finest.
