Okay I’m gonna attempt to maintain a coherent post here, and I apologize if I fall short. This will be our last post, as we are officially disbanding following our last show tomorrow night at Elwoods on the river from 8-12. To quell any possible rumors that might pop up, there was no drama or hard feelings in this decision. It has been five years and we are at a point where a change is welcome. Jacob and Vashni are due to leave for 5 months to play as a duo on cruise ships. Kash is heading down to Norman to pursue his graduate degree in classical guitar performance. Michael will be here working on his music degree, and jamming out when and where he sees fit (so if anyone is looking to jam with a kickass drummer…). I (sky) will be here working on my engineering degree, and I plan on getting weird with some original tunes as soon as possible. We are by no means quitting music, that would be no fun at all, we are just quitting the sellouts. It has been a pretty awesome five years. We started out just a three piece instrumental band with Dallas Elleman, Kash and myself, playing Dick Dale covers and various surf rock, jazz fusion, and blues songs. That was short lived as the difficulty in having any appeal to a bar owner with such a set list proved formidable. Then Kash introduced us to the angelic pipes of Jacob Dement, and the range of possibilities increased from there, Jake introduced us to Preston Roper and we expanded to a five piece, with Phil Emigh running Dallas’ cleverly and frugally concocted craigslist sound system. It may not have been enough power for Spinal Tap but it worked for us. The lineup changed as Dallas had to leave to be a good father and husband for his family. Preston cut out for a bit and thats when we pulled that wonderful force of nature Michael Stoy in to provide the beats, and an overall charm. Preston came back as our sound guy. Alex Slade joined shortly after to bring us back to a five piece for a while, offering his Tupac and Nate Dogg skillz, many fun shows with Alex. After Alex, Nick Waltrip joined for a bit, and we were grateful he stepped in to help. After Nick, we just rode it out to the present as a four piece. We have played probably close to a thousand shows together and I would be wrong not to give credit to our wonderful friends at Box Talent Agency for keeping us so busy for the bulk of our time gigging. We have enjoyed it all, the weddings and parties we’ve played, the charity events for Cystic Fibrosis, Nolan Sensintaffar, or a local musician needing a little help from his friends, the casinos and bars, Utopia and Phil Hernandez, and Harvard sports bar where we played our first shows, Sidelines, and Baker St. I will not ask forgiveness for this lengthy sentimental post as I feel it is important to acknowledge and cherish the persons and experiences that have been so important a factor in our personal and collective happiness, lest we forget and lose ourselves. So most of all, to whomever has seen us and enjoyed our music, laughed and danced with us, gave us their friendship and love, our gratitude is a function of your grace and beauty. Thank you so much and and we love you!
