Okay, Jana Truman gave me the #10, so here we go (I promise there are no repeats of the seven I listed a couple of weeks ago) - 1. Rod McKuen is my favorite poet and Ive seen him twice in concert, meeting him back stage both times, and one additional time at a book signing at Liberty House Department Store in Oakland, CA in 1976 for his first book of non-fiction prose, Finding My Father. Had my picture taken with him each time. And yes, I got him to autograph my copies of some of his books. 2. Favorite foods (in no particular order) - Lasagna, Pizza, Spaghetti, Steak & Lobster, Prime Rib (w/ a baked potato w/ butter, sour cream, and toasted onions), Fettuccine Alfredo w/ Chicken, Polynesian Cuisine, Barbecue Ribs / Hamburgers / Steaks / Chicken, and Chinese food. Not a big fan of Mexican food, but I can tolerate it, just no refried beans! 3. Favorite Restaurants - For a special occasion > Ruths Chris Steak House. For a light and easy dinner > Applebees or Logans Steak House. Early Dawn Steak House in Modesto, CA was another favorite. Favorite Salad Bar > Ruby Tuesdays. Favorite Hamburger > Red Robin. Searching for a GREAT Polynesian Restaurant in the Nashville area. My favorite - The Lanai in San Mateo, CA - closed up many years ago. 4. I was the first Boy Scout in the San Francisco Bay Area to earn the Atomic Energy Merit Badge in November 1963 and 34th in the nation. 5. Im proud to claim Norway as one of my ancestral homes. 6. My favorite places to vacation are Lake Tahoe and Sea Ranch (along the Mendocino coast a couple of hours north of San Francisco). Favorite weekend getaways - Carmel, CA, Gatlinburg, TN, and a cabin on Lookout Mountain, Georgia. 7. I have a Bucket List and one of the places I want to go thats on my list is Dyersville, Iowa, preferably in spring. Why? Because thats where the Field of Dreams baseball field is. 8. In the game Six Degrees from Kevin Bacon Im 2 away. I met Donald Sutherland at McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas in 1983 and Donald starred in the movie JFK with Kevin. 9 My favorite cartoon characters are the Pink Panther and Spy vs. Spy (from Mad Magazine). 10. My favorite ice cream is Baskin & Robbins World Class Chocolate. Mint (as long as its green) is #2, preferably with fudge swirls, and Peppermint Fudge (found a long time ago at Delmonicos in Danville, CA) is #3.
