Okay... Just one more story from my TT profile that I am proud of!! & I am finally going to bed! My back is screaming! I will be out of commission for at least a day or two after my neck procedure later this week. Question: Tell us about a recent job you did that you are particularly proud of? Answer: This was not a job, but while on vacation with my family in Destin, Florida.... my favorite place to be & I have been to lots of beautiful foreign beaches! Anyway.... it was Fathers Day! We had stayed an extra day to celebrate with my husband and the kids. While waiting at this very very busy beach front restaurant we ended up over hearing the family by us talking. They started a conversation with us for one reason or another. The woman was pregnant and she was with her husband & father. We had at least an hour to wait and so did they! She mentioned that her husband was being deployed to Iraq the very next day!!!!!!! I try to always have my camera with me everywhere we go! I just wish that it had been brought up sooner because the sun was going down & I did not have all of my equipment with me at the time but anyway.... I asked her if she had had any maternity photos done & she said no that they had not had the money or time with him being in the military etc. She was about 6 months along! So I asked if they would like for me to take a few shots on the beach of them and she was so happy about it!!! So we did an impromptu session right there as the sun went down! They were not perfect, given the lack of gear that I brought along that night! But I had made someone truly happy!!! I love that!!!! I have no idea how she was feeling being pregnant and her husband leaving to Iraq in a few hours! So I gave her my contact info and we all said have a great dinner went our separate ways. Well weeks later I realize I do not have her info!! I realize also she had called me and left a message & some how it got erased! So I remembered her name and what little info I had because she had given me her work info! I happened to call a REALLY nice person that did not have to but they went above and beyond! They searched the area until they found the law firm that she was a receptionist at I believe! When I contacted them she had already left on maternity leave so I sent the CD with the images anyway. The office said that she should come by they would get them to her! She called me so happy she had the baby & was so thankful that the cd arrived just in time she had just had the baby and now she had something to send her husband over seas! I really think that for once I did a really good thing for someone! She left a great review on my fan page on Facebook & I have not heard from them since just very happy to make someones day or more by doing something I love and knowing that it was more than appreciated that day. ~Kris D.
