Okay... So, within the next few days I get to put up the Christmas tree (because Im not a psychopath who puts it up the week after Halloween) and I get to leave it bare for a few days. Will be spraying it with apple cider vinegar, and be putting orange peels all along the bottom to discourage the kittens from playing in/on it. If that doesnt work, Ill look into some of that scat cat spray, that is *SUPPOSED* to deter cats from certain areas... May even look into getting pine cones for underneath the tree, because Ive heard that cats dislike stepping on them. After the tree is up, and I feel that the kitties are sufficiently uninterested in it, I can then begin to either slowly add decorations (as per web suggestion A) or lock them upstairs long enough to get all decorations on at once (as per web suggestion B) and hope for the best. Already planning on weighing down the base, but this is going to be an interesting challenge to say the least. Slightly disappointed that the 20 or so packs of holographic tinsel I bought last year wont be used on the tree, but I can probably use it in gift packaging. This will be an interesting Christmas. :/
