Okay. This is my first post about a music album. Its not a critical post nor any sort of review but the experience I felt after listening to the 15th studio album of my favourite band #PinkFloyd. For many like you and me, Pink Floyd had has always been there. I believe that there is a constant search for salvation, satisfaction and all those things which makes us happy and satisfied but still creates an unknown void in our life. All of these things are familiar to me as a traveller too. But theres always a catch, youre never satisfied. So in turn we look into secondary, ordinary things which gives us that holy feeling of utopia all of us are searching for, atleast for a brief moment. Well, Im glad to say this is not what it is this time. Music, like travelling, for me is one of those things which makes me look truly into myself, the monsters I keep deep inside and the stable person Im on the outside. Having said so, listening to #TheEndlessRiver, takes you into that nostalgic world, the time, where music meant something, which makes you and me wonder and realise the undeniable truth that this is the last good thing which has come out of a 5 decade long group. The Endless River is nothing like #TheDivisionBell or #TheDarkSideOfTheMoon, I felt its a more Gilmouresque, soloing, heavy on the string cords, the classic emotional turmoil and the paranormal shift from the abysmal melancholy to soary euphoria, but keeping the original Pink Floydish music in his heart. It takes you to a series of knowing, while listening to the tracks you cant help yourself but come across to an indistinctive known feeling, whether this chord is from #HighHopes or #Marooned or #WishYouWereHere but instead, surprisingly its oddly distinctive, and by the time the album is coming to an end, you cant help but smile with the flow, the music took over you and your mind, resonating. I believe that Pink Floyd belongs to a tiny band of artists who clearly never have to do anything for the money. Pink Floyd doesnt depend upon singles or music videos or press coverages for their publicity, I think they just dont care. I think their salvation, satisfaction lies on the fact that they produce music which matters to them and their followers. Even as Im listening to The Endless River, I know that the musical wonders of Floyd are coming to an end. Yes, Im sad. But all good things must come to an end. And its better to go out with a bang, breaking a sales record, than to fade away into irrelevance like so many classic rock bands have done before. #ShineOn, Pink Floyd.
