Okay, according to the EPA and the Obama Administration, Global Warming is settled science. Now, knowing that those two words would never be uttered or printed in proximity by any scientist, I still remain open to the possibility that a naturally occurring gas, essential to life on earth could be a pollutant, and that it must somehow be regulated. I suggest that Al Gore begin holding his breath, as a start. Ive actually been told that the acknowledged fact that the models have been incorrect and grossly overstated the actual warming, and find less and less correlation with CO2, that the inaccuracy only serves to prove the point that its true, and its settled science anyway, so Im obviously a denier. Okay, thats all well and good, but the same government that spent 400 million on a website that cant be made to work is now funding reliable climate change models. But, I thought that the models already were reliable and that it was settled science. You cant make this stuff up. The National Science Foundation (NSF) and the U.S. Department of Agriculture have plans to spend up to $18 million over the next five years to develop “reliable” climate change predictions for the next few decades. The “funding opportunity enables interagency cooperation on one of the most pressing problems of the millennium: climate change and how it is likely to affect our world,” according to NSF’s official request for bids. “This solicitation is intended to support development of reliable regional and decadal climate predictions that take into account the influences of living systems and are essential for projecting how living systems might adapt to climate change and its consequences for their physical environment,” the program solicitation explains.
