Okay, by popular demand, (really, one friend asked if she could read this poem :) ) here is my poem I wrote in 2000 about the radio station in S.F. known as KFRC The Big 610. They let me read it on the air after I wrote it and they loved it. I mention some of the DJs that were on the air in 2000 when I wrote the poem and KFRC does not play oldies anymore. But, they did when I wrote this poem. I hope you like it and especially you Paula. I also wish I could recite it to you, as i know the rhythm, but alas, I am out of excuses. Here tis: Ode To A Radio Station A long time ago, in the city by the bay When A.M. was king, it was the only way There lived a station called the Big 610 That played Rock and Roll music, remember when? We heard the Beatles, the Stones, Hendricks and Cream It was all so great, it must be a dream No need to fret or grieve in despair KFRC is still on the air They play the same great music, we call them oldies now The sound is much better, its F.M. wow! They give prizes and cash, you just might win Listening to the music makes us feel young again Ron, Cammie, J.D. and dont forget Sue Are the D.J.s there, to mention a few Just tune them in at 99.7 The station is great, film at eleven TJ Whetstone Copyright 2000
