Okay, ending my Sarkodie Free Press rant here; first of all, - TopicsExpress

Okay, ending my Sarkodie Free Press rant here; first of all, Sarkodie went to steal a beat from Busta Rythmes’ 1997 track- Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See, off his album ‘When Disaster Strikes’ (youtube/watch?v=1chIpba4yQ4) (I say steal because it is highly probable he did not ask for permission) for his mixtape Free Press to talk slack about media men. Great, he should make sure he does not get sued for copyright infringement because rapper-The Game recently got sued for using someone’s beat for a Mixtape without permission. There are laws in this world! Secondly, he says Ghanaian media should support him and the other Ghanaian artistes. I guess he is not grateful for the support he is getting and he surely wants more. For that more, I will say; he should DAMN PAY and stop being a cheap artiste. He is not running a charity so why should any media men go beyond the ordinary to support him? I guess he also has that misplaced notion of patriotism mindset most Ghanaians have….Support Ghana this, Ghana that! Who should support you for free while you make money? He also talked about the media saying he performed infront of cleaners at BET Awards…Of course it is true and we had to say it. If as an artiste he will continue to take disrespect from BET, that is his own cup of tea. But we will continue reporting on the disrespect. Also, if he really has a free studio time to waste, why didn’t he record a song for BET and telling them about their incessant disrespect of African artistes like himself, awarding them backstage and making them perform to cleaners, passerbyers and workers? Then Sarkodie talked about media men going International. Of course he has already gone international. He sits in Ghana and collaborates with Nigerian artistes and that means he has gone international so others should go too. And I shouldn’t forget that, he went to Dubai to shoot a music video too---perhaps without a work permit even, I guess. Ignorantly, Sarkodie continued his diatribes by saying, Ghanaian media men should follow him to BET or go and work for MTV…Really, is that his mindset? I know people including myself who will not work for even the BBC if offered millions of dollars. It is about ideology, personal philosophies and the believe in independent media. And who said the measuring rode for success for any media man is MTV? I guess that is all he knows---he probably watches too much MTV! All the same, Sarkodie remains Ghana’s best and the media has supported him more than any Ghanaian artiste out there so he should be grateful and stop throwing ignorant punches---especially when most of the media men are far informed than him. Lastly, he should watch his back for the Busta Rythmes beat theft because things are hard for Busta and he won’t mind cashing in on some cedis…Don’t get sued for a mixtape as an artiste by stealing a beat or using a beat without permission. That is damn old school Mr. Sarkodie… Time to get some waakye to eat! LOL. Free Press! Free Speech
