Okay everyone lets see what you think??? rough draft!!! To whom this may concern, I am one of the many frustrated neighbors who live in Foxtrace subdivision in Hubert. We are very tired of the lack respect and negligence from our area maintenance. We pay taxes like everyone else around here and wonder why our roads are full of potholes and sinkholes. Our ditches haven’t been taken care of in over a year. Our neighborhood has Webb creek sewage, who from what I was told is suppose-to maintain the roads and ditches. Just recently I had been on a social media sight and had noticed some of my neighbors complaining of things in the neighborhood. One discussion was how we should put a page together to use as a tool to make our other neighbors aware of things that go on in our area or to vent. I took it upon myself to create this page on Facebook and so far have 38 frustrated followers. My page is (https://facebook/groups/823480394363810/829538063758043/?notif_t=group_comment_reply) Recently we have had the horrible pleasure of dealing with potholes that have not been fixed and have damaged vehicles. When I mean pots holes some are few feet wide and/or deep. Some of the vehicle damage is in thousands of dollars. This comes out of the owners pockets. Some auto insurance companies with not cover it and Webb creek/Onslow County won’t assist in help. That is negligence, on the part of the ones who are suppose-to maintain our roads. Then there is the ditches, that with the rain we just had, over flowed onto our roads and yards. These ditches are so over grown, a home owner trying to clear them out with a shovel will not do the job. Some of them have trees growing in them. Then the sinkholes that appeared last week on Parnell Rd in which I live and have posted pictures to my Facebook page. They are scary! One takes up the owner’s whole yard and the other is in-between two homes. Not totally sure why they occurred, but who’s next? There has been some rumors that Webb Creek Sewage is in bankruptcy and selling out! True or False? We don’t know. I was under the belief, as well as some of my neighbors, that we are to be notified if the company is going through this. Wrong? I don’t know, like many around here. We have seen flatbed trucks moving large amounts of culverts, that where suppose-to be for the ditches, out of here. Some of us have asked Webb creek and get attitude or told we don’t know! Well someone knows, but who? Who do we call? Some of us have been told by the county this is still private property, owned by the developer, Hurst realty. Now mind you, when I bought my home 8 years ago that we were not told this land was still owned by the developer, we found this out after the fact. So why if that is the case, do we pay high property taxes out here, if no one knows anything and no one takes care of anything. We do not have HOA out here. As of today my Facebook page has blown up with wonderful people. I cannot be prouder of my neighborhood. Some residents have learned that one of our fellow neighbors, has taken it upon himself and pocket book to fill in some of these potholes. It has hit my page with pride and honor so much, that now my husband, myself, and some of neighbors are following in this man footsteps. We are purchasing the products ourselves to fix these potholes. We cannot wait for our county or sewage company to make up their minds who is going to do what or fix them. We are tired of this!!! It is not safe for kids to live in this mess that no one wants to takes responsibility for. I am writing you to see if someone out there reading this can tell us who to talk to and/or complain to about this problem. We really want answers and results. We shouldn’t have to fork out our hard earned money anymore to fix the mistakes that someone is turning a blind eye to and we pay them to do. Thank you very much for you time.
