Okay......first off, let me be clear on this......I am NOT bashing Christianity or Christians. Put Christ back into Christmas? Sorry.....but, for those of you who never got the memo.......the Winter Solstice was NEVER about Jesus~! One of the early Popes of the Holy Roman Church moved the birth of Jesus to coincide with that of Mithras,(The Roman Solar God), as well as the Northern/Central European celebration of Yule, which celebrates the birth of the Solar God as well during the time of the Winter Solstice. Yes, Christmas is a wonderful holiday, filled with all kinds of traditions(mostly taken from Pagan ones).......but.......it was NOT when the birth of Jesus Christ happened. Please be aware that every time you say Put Christ back into Christmas......you may piss off those of us who know better, and know that this season, with all the pomp and ceremony......started out being Pagan. If you, as Christians want to celebrate the birth of your God this time of year.....fine....cool.....I have NO problem with that. Just please.....be considerate to those of us who celebrate Yule.
