Okay first, why was I tricked into reading a list. Second, where in Phoenix did you last see a Greeley Estates spin-off? Seriously, where and when, I cannot think of the last time I saw that. Who still talks about Nate Ruess? Is that still a thing? The Nile doesnt really need a liquor licence, more power to all ages venues. Speaking of which, dont attend shows at Trunk space to support them doing more bands and less experimental art. Go see the weird art, change it up. Go in the middle of the week and see it to. In fact, go see the bands that are touring and playing on a weekday. But you cannot expect a venue built upon giving space to experimental and new musics to change because it doesnt fit your idea of what local music should be. Maybe you should see something weird on a Friday and makes you reconsider how local and new music should be approached instead of preaching to fit this illusion. DIY exists if you know where to look for it! Funny World, TUF, any house show in Tempe or Phoenix, weird space near McDowell and 16th St. Check it out, keep an ear to the ground! Seriously, I dont mind pro-phoenix articles, but there are some serious insights missing here to be recommending resolutions to our music scene.
