Okay, forget the virgin birth or the resurrection....what historical scholars are now seriously discussing is whether or not Jesus even existed. Think for a second about the distinct possibility that organized religion may very well be the greatest fraud perpetrated in human history. I am by no means saying absolutely that it is...who knows, its possible, though I would say highly unlikely, that one of them is the right one (in which case all the wrong ones would necessarily be incredible frauds). But just for a second think about the seemingly reasonable possibility that it is all man-made and made-up, a complete and total fabrication somehow forged down the ages. Think about all the people who read and worship these religious books, who let these books inform their entire reality and mode of existence....and then consider the possibility that these peoples entire lives are one giant lie (sure, maybe religion works for them, maybe it gives them purpose, maybe it makes them behave better, but if indeed organized religion is a total fabrication, then that is what it is at the end of the day: one giant lie). Billions of souls are at stake here! Literally! The future of the world is at stake! Is it all made-up!?
