Okay, heres the thing, I hate categories. I hate being put in them, and I try not to use them to limit people. I get sick of every political discussion breaking down into name calling, and people who have their own opinions, based on their own ability to think, being categorized with some group so that those who feel they are opposed to whatever it is they think their group believes in can deal with it. Put a label on it, slap it in a drawer labeled commie, or libtard, or neocon so they dont have to actually engage their gray matter and think things through. Politics is not about thinking, its about choosing sides! And I HATE everyone on YOUR side. I have no side. I am a registered Republican, but I vote all over the map, depending on who I think will actually do what they say they are going to do. I think about it, listen to others, and think about it some more. I think about what the future might look like if this person gets what they want. I think about how it effects us a whole, and I think about how it effects me. I think about whether I believe they mean it and whether I think they can do it, or not. then I think about it some more. When I think I know what I should do, I pray, and then I think some more, then I speak my mind, or I vote, or I write. Not because somebody else says so, or agrees with me, who cares? Most of them are just saying what somebody wants to hear. In fact, typically I find I both agree and disagree with nearly everything I hear or read. No, I am not mentally unstable, I just really dont do oppositional thinking. The world is filled with potential. There are literally unlimited possible futures for us, and deciding to choose one view because it is diametrically opposed to some other view that I know I dont agree with. That is oppositional thinking, Im a conservative,so I have to think this way or Im a liberal, and we think this way or even, Im a libertarian and libertarians believe thus and such I refuse to buy my beliefs as a boxed set, I dont have to.
