Okay, its been a long LONG day for sure. Got back from the vet about 4:00 or so. Just have to say another HUGE thank you to Dr. Karen Sherman at Oak View Animal Clinic in Pea Ridge for all her hard work and research into finding out how to treat sweet Grace. Heres the update.... Blood work on Grace showed that she does have an elevated white blood count and a few other results were off. So, yes we are dealing with some sort of infection. Doc gave her an injection of meds, Im sorry I dont remember what it was. So much info, I missed that one. She gave gastro guard for her tummy, and panacur. Her lungs, heart sounded good. Temp was 100.0. We started a ten day coarse of flagyl, three times a day in applesauce, continue the current antibiotic injections till gone, panacur once a day for the next two days. Electrolytes once a day, probios twice a day. Shes about 200# underweight at this point so shes getting 2# of patriot senior twice a day and two flakes of Bermuda twice a day. Dr. Sherman, I hope I got it all! Help us pray that this will put her on the road to healing! When we got back, the sweet Bania girls were here and some awesome teens from TASC as well. They helped clean Graces stall, and helped me give her a much needed bath, as well as helped me give her her evening meds and feed the whole crew. Its been a full day, thats for sure!
