Okay, just to clear something up for those to seem to like to complain about what others choose to share on their facebook profiles (ie... GAWD, Im so SICK of people just posting stuff of their KIDS. If I didnt have a life beyond my kids if I had kids then I would hate myself and such comments): I want to remind you that facebook is a social networking site. To what degree and to what groups one chooses to be social with is their own personal freedom. Some limit their social networks to their family and close friends. Others like to stretch their nets wider; to work colleagues, acquaintances, or even strangers that they simply find interesting and wish to follow. It is a new world, after all. I choose to limit my social network to family, friends, and acquaintances that I feel I have a personal connection with, a great deal of respect for, as well as some interest and appreciation in their personal life beyond their likes on this site. I also have a great deal of family that does not live in this country. And this is where I really want to make a point-- My family in the UK does not have the opportunity to watch my children and family on a day to day basis, taking part in those intimate and private moments that families get to typically share with one another. For me facebook offers a real time way to share multimedia (videos, pics, posts, etc.) that are intimate, private, and specific to my family as a means to stay connected with those that distance might try to separate. So people? Please? Stop being so judgemental and selfish. You may get the opportunity to watch my children grow up (whether you choose to actually take part or not) as well as share special moments with our family but I have a family that is equally as emotionally invested that doesnt happen to get those opportunities. I do what I can through every means possible. Facebook is one of those. If you dont want to be part of my facebook loop I understand that isnt a severance in friendship or family bonds-- and I hope you do to. So... if you just want to see my likes or the memes I share, etc. then this profile isnt for you. Move along. My feelings wont be hurt. And I appreciate you anyway.
