Okay ladies and gentlemen, its soap box time, so listen up! DO NOT ask a woman if she is pregnant unless you have very, VERY good reason to believe that she is indeed pregnant. Examples of very, VERY good reasons include: 1) she told you that she is pregnant; 2) you overheard her telling someone that she is pregnant; 3) she asks for a ride to the hospital because she is in labor. Examples of terrible reasons to ask a woman if she is pregnant: 1) you think she is fat; 2) thats pretty much the only reason Ive heard. If your curious mind just absolutely must ask the question please phrase it differently. Rather than, Are you pregnant? try, Hey, I heard that you are pregnant! If the answer is yes, pat yourself on the back. Youre lucky. If the answer is no, simply reply with, Oh, Im sorry, I must be thinking of someone else. Leave. It. At. That. Women are, by nature and with lots of help from the media, very insecure creatures. Some of them carry most of their extra weight in the abdominal area. Some doctors think this is due to excessive levels of stress. Genetics may also play a role. Women that carry weight in the abdominal area are quite aware of it, and are constantly reminded of it every time they look in mirror. They dont need other people to help them see their flaws. That is all. *steps down from soapbox*
