Okay, last post about anything Robert Rodriguez related, I swear! The best thing about SXSW this year was The Robert Rodriguez Museum, which featured some amazing original artwork from Frank Frazetta, Drew Struzan (my hero), Frank Miller, George Yepes, the cast of Sin City, and sculptures from Clete Shields. It was a fantastic gallery that was set up to raise money so Robert Rodriguez can open a permanent museum to showcase over 150 original pieces from Frazetta. Unfortunately, there was no photography allowed. Half of the gallery displayed fantasy paintings by Frazetta, including the legendary Death Dealer piece (pictured in the window). The other half was dedicated to the art of Sin City and its cast. It was really interesting. Each actor - including Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon Levitt, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson and Jessica Alba - collaborated on a piece with Rodriguez based on their character. The results were surprisingly really good. Even Lady Gaga had one from her stint on Machete. If you are interested in seeing more of Frank Frazettas iconic work, start here: frazettagirls/
