Okay, lets try and put this issue to rest once and for all. It seems some of us are stressing over something that the President is not concerned about....and that is Voters feeling that their Democratic candidate is not embracing the President the way we feel they should be. Conversations are becoming toxic because of that, and it isnt helpful to our cause. So, when Rev. Al Sharpton spoke with the President yesterday, I decided to quote the President....in his own words...as he addressed that issue. Heres what he had to say: We have a tough map...a lot of the States that are contested didnt vote for me. For some candidates it is difficult to have me in those States because the Republicans will use that to try and fan Republican turnout. The bottom line is, these are folks that support me, vote with me, and have supported my agenda in Congress. They are on the right side of Minimum wage....theyre on the right side of Fair pay....theyre on the right side of Rebuilding the infrastructure....theyre on the right side of Early childhood education. So it isnt about my feelings being hurt. These are folks who are strong allys and supporters of me....and I tell them, you do what you need to do to win...and I will be responsible for making sure our people turn out. So if the voters out there care about me, care about the First Lady, care about our agenda...then dont worry about what other folks are doing. The best way you can help us is to get your friends, your co-workers, and your family to turn out to the polls and VOTE. If we have a high turnout, we win..!! This is the last election where, even though Im not on the ballot, whatever happens will have an impact on my presidency. So I need people to give us this last little bit of support. There, thats what he said.....hopefully we can close this non-issue for once and for all....Just VOTE...!!!
