Okay my fellow bird nerds, I need help! Yesterday afternoon I saw a bird in the dunes which I thought was a mockingbird at first but realized after closer inspection it wasnt. It had a very black mask like a shrike but lacked any sort of distinctive bill. The underside of the tail was also thickly barred kinda like a Cuckoos. I was with 13 fifth graders and didnt have binocs so I couldnt investigate any more than that. Anyone have any ideas?! Its driving me insane!!!!!
