Okay, one final update on the progress of the Surveillance - TopicsExpress

Okay, one final update on the progress of the Surveillance packages before I leave for Europe. It was my intention to get all of these packages out before I left, but it is clear now that is not going to be possible. I’m not one who likes to admit defeat, so I wish this wasn’t the case, but it is now 5AM here in Seattle and there are still approximately 75 more packages to be put together, many requiring Customs forms. For the past week, I have been putting in 14+ hour days putting these packages together. Things have been further slowed down by a new policy the US post office instituted last week that requires all package addresses to be manually verified by postal clerks. On Friday alone I spent 3 hours at the post office standing around while the poor postal clerk hammered through all the packages I had. Not asking anyone to feel sorry for me - the campaign was successful beyond my wildest dreams - just wanting to provide a little behind the scenes info to let everyone know what is going on. On Tuesday, I leave for Europe and need tomorrow to spend packing and preparing for the tour. So, while I have managed to ship out about 470 packages by myself in the past week, there are around 75 of you whose packages I won’t be able to ship until I get back. I apologize for this, but there is simply no way I can complete the shipments in the time I have before I leave. The “good” news is that I will only be away for 13 days, so if you are among this “lucky” 75, you only have to wait slightly longer. By all means, if anyone has any concerns or complaints, they can address them to at tomshear (at) comcast (dot) net. I do understand that my contributors have been patient to the point of sainthood with the delays in this project, but I assure you we are in the home stretch. To that end: • I am working on the last of the remixes for people who selected the remix perk. I hope to be done with these a couple weeks after I return from Europe. There is one remaining artist I hope to contact after that (talk to you soon, David!) • A couple of weeks ago I finished both of the guest vocal perks and had a ton of fun doing it. I will send links to the tracks on my social media when they are released. • For the contributors who selected the 1-hour Skype convo, I will contact you when I get back from Europe and will try to fill your perks at the beginning of May so long as that fits your schedule. So start thinking of questions. Or we can just awkwardly stare at one another for an hour. It’s up to you. • I’ve had a couple people ask for an update on the digital remix album, so here’s some info. I am waiting on the last 2 remixes to come in, and expect that will happen some time while I am on tour. So my plan is to have the album off to mastering in the beginning of May and get it out some time during that month. The moment I have the masters in my hand, contributors will receive their download codes and anyone who wants to pick up a copy can do so. As for the remixers… Velvet Acid Christ… Aesthetic Perfection… iVardensphere…mind.in.a.box… and many more exciting names I’m not going to share yet because I’m a tease. • For those of you who ordered the signed CD/shirt perk, I’d LOVE it if you posted pictures of yourself modeling the shirt on my Facebook or the Surveillance Facebook! Or even just your own social media. Anything you can do to help spread awareness about Surveillance would be amazing! • I also plan on creating a Surveillance shirt design for those of you who missed out on the Indiegogo campaign when I get back. Hopefully a new A23 shirt, too.
