Okay, review time! The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. Minor spoilers may happen. Very, very well done. A few deviations from the books, but thats to be expected - Ive not seen a movie yet that was 100% faithful to its source material. I was surprised they left out the runaways and the hinting at District 13, though. I found the acting to be believable, and President Snow remains, as ever, an insufferable dick. I actually found myself growing rather fond of Effie, which surprised me. The music.. well, lets be honest, I didnt pay much attention to the soundtrack. The scenery was gorgeous even if the true victim of the last rebellion remains fashion. This one did seem to tone down some of the more outlandish clothing and makeup trends in the Capital, which in retrospect may be indicative of the slowly adjusting mindset among its citizens. All told, I give the movie a solid 4.5 / 5. Its worth a see in theaters, but its not a must see repeatedly. It IS a would see a second time, however. Also, there is no post-credits scene.
