Okay seasoned beeks, here is my 100th question for you. Hive location. Would you rather have your hive in a location that faces east that backs up to a wood line that would get direct sun only half of the day ( photo 1) or a hive that faces southeast that would get more sun, but is closer to a cornfield (photo 2) ? I live in central Indiana. Both locations within yards of my pond. My concern is when they spray the field. Also, you all have been talking about mites not liking a lot of sun. Wood mice are little pests here as well.
