Okay since this was written by a 20-something at best, some of the things I couldnt check off in good conscience were: You think anyone who uses an umbrella is a huge wimp. - nope, I think sometimes (rarely) we get rain where it is warranted. I would rephrase this as anyone who uses umbrellas REGULARLY. So I didnt check it off. You loved (fill in sports celebrity) - I dont care about sports. That doesnt make me any more or less a hard core Seattleite Youve Instagrammed the ever-changing flower memorial on the Green Lake trail near 99. - Considering I dont really use Instagram, that one cant be checked off... You talk shit about anyone who pays to go to the top of the Space Needle. - Actually, nope. I think everyone should do it at least once. I still do it about every 5 years. Its because I LOVE MY CITY and am SUCH a hard-core Seattleite that I still appreciate this for its history and kitsch. You know which buildings Paul Allen paid for and which ones Bill Gates paid for. - I suppose I know a few of each, but couldnt name them all...? Can you? Youve spent the day after Thanksgiving while watching the Apple Cup live. - See above, dont care for sports, period. Out of millions of residents, only a few hundred could claim this. If youre a girl, Dansko clogs=dressing up - Oh hell no. You know exactly how late youll be when one of the bridges goes up. Um, I think this would be hard core Eastsiders or Microsoft employees, not hard core Seattlelite? I AVOID going eastside, and that makes me a more hard core native than anything. You talk a lot about getting a cabin in the San Juans. - Yes I talk about getting a cabin, but NOT with a ferry ride involved. Let alone THAT ferry ride. Ugh. Youve walked home instead of waiting for a Seattle cab. - Wow, so this cant really apply to anyone north of the ship canal. Walk home from downtown would take a couple of hours, so...no. My life-long native hackles are up given some of these stupid choices. Feels like it was written by a relative child and/or a non-native trying to SOUND local.
