Okay, so I am going to share with you my experience with AT&T. I dont do any type of reviews on companies, but this is absolutely ridiculous. Last month my phone was stolen. I am on a phone plan with my grandma, my sister, and I. We were avoiding doing the AT&T next plan, but quickly realized we would have no choice but to go in and take the increase in bill by about $30 a month putting our bill at $155. When we went in, I picked out a phone that would work within our budget (around $150 because we have been battling overages in data), and they informed us that with our purchase we could get a tablet for 99 cents. We told her no thank you, we dont want our bill to go up anymore. She told us not to worry, that we might as well get it because we could at least sell it or give it as a Christmas gift to save some money on the holidays. After some convincing, we decided to get it and either give it as a gift or sell it to make up for the taxes we were going to have to pay on the phone, as repeatedly suggested to do so from the sales associate. Two weeks later, we get our bill in the mail and it is $259. Not only did the cost of my data went up, but we were charged for an additional line for our tablet with an additional data charge. Today, I called and asked what the charge was for the tablet and told her that we did not ever authorize another line to be added. She told us that to get the tablet for 99 cents, we had to sign a two year contract which highered our bill by $50 a month, plus the additional $25 they added in data for my phone. I explained to the girl the situation, the we were told to go ahead and take advantage of the situation and were told to sell the device, and she told us that wasnt her problem. I am transferred to Customer Care and she informs me that she would be happy to cancel the additional line because of the misunderstanding for a small termination fee of $200. I asked how they thought it was ethical to let a customer take the fall because an employee failed to disclose information and she said that she doesnt understand why we dont just take the tablet back from the person it was gifted to and sell it to pay the early termination fees. After 2 hours of going back and forth, I finished up my order with T-Mobile online while I was on the phone with them. We got 3 brand new phones, insurance on all the phones (we never had that through AT&T because it would cause our bill to get to high), unlimited everything including data, and and no contracts. Our total bill each month: $149.37. We ended up better in the end, but I am leaving AT&T with the feeling that their associates care more about the quick sale then taking care of a customer who has been with them for close to, if not longer than, 7 years. And the company would rather ignore the situation than address it.
